How We Operate
The W G Carter team takes a pro-active approach to all its projects, working closely with clients and consultants alike and, not surprisingly, this respect for the customer and regard for their requirements has, over the years, resulted in some excellent working relationships.
From initial thoughts or ideas, the company can take a concept right through the stages of design, gaining planning, building control and statutory authority approvals, the appointment of independent contract administrators, to construction on site.
A director of the company, the Contracts Manager or the General Manager personally oversees every project undertaken, using the company’s team of 37 directly employed, skilled, workforce along with a team of regularly used specialist sub-contractors.
For larger projects, a senior estimator and contracts manager will also become involved and an experienced foreman, based on site.
A senior quantity surveyor is allocated to the project for preparation of monthly valuations, procurement of provisional and PC sums, monthly anticipated final accounts and, upon completion, agreement of the final account.
The company is equipped to participate in single and two stage tendering processes, to handle fully negotiated contracts or provide budget costings if required.
A large proportion of our contracts are negotiated with clients and their consultants where open accounting and transparent budgeting has ensured many succesful projects.
