Due
to our extensive experience in working
on listed buildings, we are often asked
to refurbish or carry out alterations
to such properties. We are proud to be
able to use our own, directly employed
craftsmen for this skilled work. Projects
such as these often require close liaison
with conservation officers and other representatives
of listed building or building control
departments. Attention to detail has resulted
in some wonderful finished products!
Project
A
This
historic manor house has always been an
important heart of the village in which
it is located. Its owners required complete
internal refurbishment and redecoration
in an adventurous style, combining tasteful
contemporary colours and furnishings with
very traditionally built rooms. In addition,
loft spaces were converted to create additional
bedroom and bathroom accommodation.

A
major part of the refurbishment
of this former village vicarage
was the re-roofing of the property.
A new oak-framed front entrance
porch was created featuring new
sawn York stone steps and paving.
New purpose-made joinery (windows
and doors) was installed and inside
a new kitchen and new bathrooms
put in. |
Project
C
This
interesting project involved not only
the partial demolition and reconstruction
of the existing house but also the construction
of an entirely new, natural stone cottage
at the back of the property. Unusually,
the design of the cottage incorporated
a basement to serve as a wine cellar and
storage area.

A Grade II listed building standing in grounds of 7 acres with its own walled garden, entrance lodge and cottages, etc. The building was fully refurbished to a very high standard, including all mechanical and electrical services and a new wing extension in natural stone to incorporate a large kitchen family room, laundry and boot room. The building was fully re-roofed and a huge amount of delicate structural works were carried out within the existing building. Works were carried out in conjunction with an interior designer and the whole job was refurbished to a very high standard. Subsequently the Greenhouse has been refurbished in the walled garden that is within the listed curtilage of the main house and also a cottage within the grounds has been fully refurbished, again within the listed curtilage of the main house. This was a very successful project, completed over a period of approximately 42 weeks on site.
