Over
the decades W G Carter Limited has built
a great many individual new detached homes
in local villages. They are all, as would
be expected, of a high quality and practical,
often innovative design.

The construction of a brand new detached bungalow which was built within the grounds of an existing Malthouse in the centre of a conservation area in a very compact site. The retirement bungalow was constructed to a very high standard, retaining all of the existing boundary walls immediately adjacent to the new building.
Country
Home
This
house was a new build project designed to
provide a substantial additional home in
keeping with its surroundings on a family-owned
country estate.
Eco
Friendly Home

We
have recently completed a new build project
which was both very exciting and unusual
from the start. An old stone bothy was demolished
and the natural stone from the building
and garden walling used in the construction
of a striking new home on the same site.
As well as sizeable accommodation, the eco
friendly features of this unique property
include
Solar
panels to supplement the heating system
Photovoltaic
panel for electricity (any surplus requirement
is fed back into the national grid)
South
facing elevation in glass with purpose-designed
screening to provide shade from intense
summer sun while maximising the benefits
of winter sunshine
High
levels of thermal and acoustic insulation
Use
of natural materials throughout
limestone and slate flooring, beech and
oak joinery, bamboo timber flooring, Mother
of Pearl natural clay plaster to a feature
curved wall in the conservatory
Village Home

This
four-bedroomed property is one of a pair
of family-oriented homes built in the early
90s in a popular Oxfordshire village.
